Around my place of gainful employment, nearly every department has a catchy little moniker. The Print peeps are known as Printopia. The Web Designers are called Web Zeppelin. The owner is referred to as God. And so it goes.
My department … the Video Production Department … was known as the Video Production Department.

Several ideas were bandied about in our ultimate quest to come up with something catchy. The Vidiots was quickly dismissed. Freaks & Geeks was already taken. And VProd sounded dirty.
Get it? It’s memorable. It’s inspiring. It’s got a baby duck in it. What more could you possibly ask for in a nickname.
In order to shamelessly and blatantly brand ourselves, we got two huge signs to place at the end of each hallway. And we’ve given out tons of those adorable and insipid plastic toy ducks to clients and co-workers. And what about me, you ask? I personally have given several of my co-workers the bird. I’m a giver!
